Photography or a single image I feel often captures those treasured moments in ones life, there is nothing quite like looking back and reflecting good or bad. But I also find that just like the act of writing our collective pictures can also be a art-form. The beauty and meaning of a photo can be expressed and shared in many ways including not even using a single word but instead just seeing what it makes you feel.
While I do enjoy photography I used to share those "everyday" type images that captures just those typical day to day activities, the feedback was mostly positive and so I continued sharing these "Ulog type" photos on Steemit.
Almost every picture as a story to tell right? Or at least that is what I was often been told by some of my followers when I first started sharing photos on here, and I would have to agree with them.
Today 2/6/2024 I share this capture.

Last night I went to sleep way past the usual late hour, this was disappointing but at least on some days I previously managed a earlier time rather than always very "lates". This happened mostly due to last night getting lost in the past, it's amazing how in just 5 years or 8 years so many people can come and go from your life. And so I was scrolling through some people and their profiles wondering what happened and what they may be doing now. As for falling asleep at least for the past 3 nights I haven't had trouble, it was definitely cold on some of them, the temperature dropped last night but I was prepared for this and I don't believe the heating came on this time. Yes I was very surprised the other night that it got cold enough for the heaters, and yes right away I saw it was costing me argh. When I did fall asleep I woke-up again 2 times way before my scheduled alarm, while this as been happening lately at least this time I was able to fall straight back to sleep easily. I expected this morning for it to be troublesome to get out of bed, but it wasn't that much of a problem. I woke-up to the alarm which was set for later than usual, I think it must of been the fact I didn't draw the curtains last night as to why I woke-up initially so early. As for the weather this morning compared to the past few days we have gone back to a beautiful sunny blue sky, very bright which is why I should of closed those curtain, it was still a little chilly but if the sun stays it could be a warm day. According to our weather people we should now have three straight months of heat waves. I have little confidence in that statement as the weather is very dynamic around here. With a late start to the day this was not a problem as I didn't have work to be in for but I did have plans to meet with friends later and so wanted to get some chores done before doing so. I just about managed to get done some of the basic things I needed completing before I had no more time and had to start leaving. I kind of forgot that my friends were not working today and so we was meeting a little earlier, it believe it's their last last off from work. I was warned about going out today as it apparently got very warm out, and while I kind of expected that as I mentioned it on here earlier but I was still a little worried about how it might get fresh on the return home. Once with friends I meet briefly one of their family members who as finally found a date after a decade of being single after a messy divorce. We also had some good catching-up chats with some of my favourite conversations being about family, pets and games. They also made some lovely spring rolls and a hot sauce as a snack, they also brought a delicious cake for us to try which was actually very yummy! Before I left my friends started to develop a headache which I believe is likely from the heat today, while I personally didn't think it was that hot my friends seem to think other wise. On the return home the weather seemed initially fine but it was actually would you believe a little chilly on the way back, I was without the extra layer I took with me as I placed it in my bag and was almost tempted to put it on. Eventually I arrived home and then had dinner with later feeling my eyes beginning to hurt me due to I guess hayfever, apparently my friend messaged me to say they were also feeling worse from the headache. On Steemit.com I'm very glad to still see it working as it should especially since it stopped functioning a few days ago, work on updating the look of the Steemit.com interface continues on for something more "modern" I was very worried about this but the changes aren't anything drastic and Alpha testing can now be tried. Today's Picture
As for the picture today I share some flower photography, a quick disclaimer I understand that this type of photography on Steemit has a bit of a bad reputation. This is because it was often used by spammers to make like 8 posts each day.
Hopefully as you can see from my blog I'm nowhere near making 8 or more posts per day on the subject of flowers.
I believe this was captured on the way to work near the super market as the weather was getting better, the main focus here is to the left what I believe is a old 6 Red Ballerina Heesterrozen which as likely seen better days. While it's called the Red Ballerina Heesterrozen I honestly feel it's more pink in colour, but to be honest when I have seen the ones they call the Pink Ballerina it more sense to me as to why these are red.
Regardless I love the colour contrast of these flowers, it makes them look beautiful but since this one is likely a older Ballerina Heesterrozen it's a little more difficult to notice. So far we have had middle aged Ballerina Heesterrozens and old, I think we did capture one still growing it's last petal but not seen any baby buds yet. Unless that's what those mysterious grey fluffy buds are?
I also like the different leaves here, we got the razor leaf which as often appeared in these photos but I also like these thicker leaves which offer much character. I'm sure those thicker ones are a tasty snack for the snails in the area.
Unfortunately since we already know this is the Red Ballerina Heesterrozen there will be no upvote for guessing it's name, however there is also the plant with the grey like buds which we have now encountered here many times, does anybody know what they are? I have in the past made some content for communities, but the reason why I don't partake in them is Steemit is suppose to be about "social media freedoms" and the communities here have too many rules which some of us have seen as a negative step. The reason why I get some support is simple, I have been on the platform for over 7 years now, I attended the official SteemFest events and I'm one of the few on here who treats Steem for what it is "a business" and not a charity. Once you understand the system how it all works you will realise Steem is not a charity and needs money, without investment any Steem you earn in future could be worth nothing, I have invested a lot of money in Steem which is another reason for the support I get. If your looking for the biggest secret it's starring us all in the face, it's simply not powering down our accounts. By doing this you can give others better votes and in turn they will upvote you back. For example your vote is worth $0.01 and so often users will vote back at $0.01 to you, now imagine your vote is now worth $0.04 and so I will vote back at $0.04. That might not sound like much but now imagine you have 10 other users around the same level as power as you and so you would receive 10x $0.04 = $0.40 while doing this you will sometimes have users who will give you larger upvotes and so you will start to earn more.

Can't agree more with this. Initially I believed verification was needed to block rewards farmers, but after I could not pass the verification, and I deep dived more. It's more like a bunch of people trying to circle vote their beloved friends and making others outside their circle blocked in order to get bigger upvote for themselves.

I have no doubts can.gee that in some communities this definitely goes on I have seen it myself. I admit also not a fan of the verification process which is another reason as to why I don't partake in them, after all Steemit is a decentralized website. While I understand why some communities may want verification I think these should on be a very select few.

Don't get me wrong helping others grow is a wonderful thing and Steemit is such a great platform to do that, however we must remember as to why Steem was once worth $4.00! This is simply because of 2 main things, 1. "the site split" and 2. those who were holding all the power were getting frustrated with investing, they were seeing all their money go to people who don't grow their accounts.
As for only certain accounts getting most of the support we must think of it this way, was your childhood fair? was it always fair at school? is your work always fair? is social media always fair to all? The answer is surely no and so on Steemit it's no difference. I will also add to not always dismiss those accounts as "just being lucky" as I wondered the same thing myself, and after lots of research many of them actually invested a lot of Steem to be able to get such rewards.
Lastly I will say you can't and shouldn't rely on just others for your earnings, collect your own Steem, if don't like were the rewards are going the best thing we can all do is collect our own Steem and vote on who we think should get the rewards, it's easier said than done but it's how change happens.
