Fall has finally arrived, according to my gentleman ash tree.

I planted an ash tree, longer ago than I care to admit, and found it to be a real gentleman when it drops leaves.

A few days ago, the green leaves looked like this overnight:

One day from green to yellow is normal for this tree.

In a couple of days, it looks like this:

Not a leaf left:

So raking leaves is a one time only event, for ash tree leaves! I planted this 3 inch diameter ash tree with an 800 pound root ball, and it's 18 inch diameter today. It grew quickly, and is a hardwood; so storms aren't a problem.

I'd recommend it to anyone, I've been very pleased with it! I moved it out 5 feet diagonally from where they recommended it be set, and I wish I had moved it ten foot. Apparently their recommended is just to protect cement; and I'm having to trim it some, to keep it off of the roof. But it is a good trade for all the nice shade it gives us!

The leaves are small enough that I can use a leaf blower to do my raking, easy on the back, LOL!
