Full Spectrum Photography - Sunrise on the Lake

in photography •  6 years ago  (edited)

While I was cooking breakfast for my friend and I, we got to enjoy an incredible sunrise on Lake Chatuge. The clouds traversing through the mountain peaks were amazing to watch. This area is known as the Smokey Mountains, because of just this. The clouds were stay in the mountains for long periods of time. In my last post I showed the moon rising from the mountains which was just stunning and we were surprised a full moon would look so bold in the sky.

Below is my entry for #goldenhourphotography by @photocontests.

I have a video series coming soon of both the moonrise and then the next mornings sunrise. But in the mean time please enjoy a series of photos taken about 15 minutes apart to show the color change in the sky and on the water.

This first photo was taken around 6:30am and with a 13 second exposure you can see a boat's lights trail on the left side of the image. Also the water is smooth, like with long exposures.

Now the light from the sky is starting to reflect off the water.

By about 7am the mid level clouds were being illuminated by the rising sun. And my exposures are short enough to show ripples again in the water.

A fisherman and his boat, you can see a subtle trail in the water from his boat moving through it.

By about 7:20am I was able to see the waters and sky but up to this point I needed a flash light to find my way around. Full spectrum cameras are very sensitive to light, so to it there was no problem seeing.

Lastly the sun was starting to climb above the clouds, the lake was waking up with lots of fishermen and water life.

These pictures look gorgeous. I love the no. 2, 3 and 4. NIce light bro. And good colorgrading, I suppose?

@gandalfthewhite

thank you, I was so happy to get these on photo. Yeah thats natural light, I did not correct the white balance. When I do it takes out the morning yellow color, which was totally there in person.

The colors change as the sun rises, glad I was able to catch that.

You are welcome. Yes, I believe you. Alright, it definitely looks amazing. Wasn't sure if you edited the light of the photos a bit or not. Well done.

I love that lake.

@cosmiccrimes

Oh have you been to Lake Chatuge? Thats where it is.

No, I have not been there. I am saying that from the photo. I guess It did sound like I have been there. My word choices are bad sometimes lol.

Ah haha.. no worries. Would have been funny if you did visit there.

It's a small world ,you never know it could happen.

Nice photo
