'Fish and Chips' in London - perhaps the finest in the west end!

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

This photo was taken in the back street of Covent Garden, London.

This pub is no longer. Gone. The area has been bought up by a major US corporate who are 'gentrifying' the area, awaiting the awaited explosion of middle class Chinese tourism, in my mind killing all the character that attracts tourism in the first place

gentrifyˈdʒɛntrɪfʌɪ/verbgerund or present participle: gentrifying
renovate and improve (a house or district) so that it conforms to middle-class taste.

I would love to eat fish and chips right now.

I'm sure it can be arranged ;)

Thinking about food?'' Ha ha need to be good with some whiskey ;)

You are so right, the irony is that removing all the character to cater for tourists with big hotels and the like will totally backfire!! Destroying all our countries precious history in the doing. What can we do?
