Some beautiful, artistic textures for you to use in your own posts

in photography •  8 years ago

Introduction

It has been raining a lot lately so I haven't been able to do any proper photography.

I therefore decided to try doing some texture shots. I have done lots of versions but since SteemImg is still being migrated to a new server I have picked a few of my favourites. I have also given some examples of how you might use them at the end.

I'm really pleased with how these turned out. Some of them are very pleasing to look at (for me anyway).

Feel free to use these in your own posts if you want as per Steemit4free.

An example of how to use these - customise with text

For the following shots I simply added white text in Photoshop and changed the blend mode to "Overlay" which allows the texture to come through. You can add any text you want and do the same:

Oh wow that is amazing. Thank you for using them! Will check the post now.

I love texture too!!! As a matter of fact, it is often one of the things I love most about photos. I've made a post or two on textures too. I love how it makes ya feel! Thanks for sharing!

No problem. Let me know if you do any more texture posts:)

Indeed! And you me!

OK:)

Or rather great shots! Thank you for putting up such great and useful content.

Is that lens distortion free throughout it's range or did you have to limit your zoom to a smaller range? Did you correct distortion in software at all?

I had to use lightroom to correct the distortion and perspective. I was using the new lens (16-35mm). There isn't a huge amount at 35mm which is the focal length for the textures but just messing around with it at 16mm showed a huge amount - with such a wide angle that is to be expected. I will try to do a proper demonstration and comparison with the new lens once the rain lets me. Every time I have tried to venture out this week beyond my own house it has started raining!

Looking forward to it. Thanks for the detailed answer.

You're welcome.
