I love that city! It's so damn perfect to shoot. Nice work!
How nice to have you showing your work on Steemit! ☺

I thought, why not contribute myself to the community by showing a different way to edit a picture posted on steemit

@thi-js Well, I don't like your version and that's why:

  • Serene mood of the early morning is killed by harsh light and contrasts
  • It is difficult to make wide angle panorama feel like one uniform scene, that's why I used very subtle and uniform tones and colors - your edit also break it and now it doesn't look like uniform scene
  • Attention centers - in original photo I tried to focus viewer attention on 3 main objects - tower and 2 sculpture groups. They tonally separated from the scene and uniform and connected with bridge fence with the same tone. In your edit I don't know where I should look - the lights and the houses compete for attention and distract the eye
  • Also I don't like overall look of the scene in your edit - it is too harsh, lamps are blown out, dirty halos around the statues and such

Maybe I just don't get the idea of your edit - what was your goal - why you made these changes?

You make valid points indeed, I definitely did exaggerate my edits to the degree that they are indeed to much. I found your Panorama of such great quality that I thought to do something back in return. Given I do agree with you now, I still think there could be a bit more of a"pop" to the scene. I exaggerated the effect to much. But I thibk you could have gotten a bit kore out of the middle lighting in particular

Thanks for the great responds!
