TimTravels - German Christmas Markets Part 2

in photography •  7 years ago

Hello and welcome my dear Steemian friends to a new episode of TimTravels!

Yesterday I posted the first part of my German Christmas market expierences and today you will see the second part. If you have missed the first part then you can see it here: TimTravels - German Christmas Markets Part 1.

I wanted to thank you all for the many comments and tell you I read them all. As promised I started to pick the best and most creative comment on every post of mine and give this Steemian 10 SBD. Today's prize goes to @splendorhub , congratulation! 10 SBD will go to your account tomorrow.

@timsaid Hola, I must say your style of photography is plenty to keep a person like me hooked! I love photography. The lighting and frame on the Christmas tree ornament is perfect, really. Which intrigued me to look at all your other post in the search of more. This my not be your thing, but I think it would be great if you did a post just on 'how to sharpen your photography' or 'timsaid photography tips'. I think that would be fantastic! I'm always looking to get better, and like I love to say...there's always room for improvement. Thank you for sharing and sounds like your 2018 will be awesome. I'll be watching ;D Best wishes, - @splendorhub

Steemians like you are the reason why I enjoy my time here and try to create as much content as I can. You are the motivation that makes Steemit great. You mentioned that I should make photography tutorials and indeed I will start to make some soon! Keep it going and Steem on!

For all the others of you, it's your chance now. Remember, I will pick one comment on every post from now on and give away 10 SBD.

It's time to come back to the photographs I took at the Christmas market. I tried to focus on the essential characteristics and tried to capture the emotions I felt. Street photography is great to document the happening and freeze the moment forever. So while watching these pictures, try to put yourself in the situations so you can feel what I felt.

What would you do on a Christmas market? There are several things but the most popular are by far to have a warming drink, eat delicous sweets or to buy some Christmas presents. So I was watching what people did and came to the conclusion, that they made me hungry watching them eat these delicacies.

Have you ever tried sweet roasted almonds? I love them! I usually don't eat much sweets or sugar but I really can't resist these.

I have some very good news for you! Tomorrow is Sunday, right? Tomorrow I will start to continue the MyPictureSunday series and also the MyPictureDay photography contest! Don't forget to tune in and get the big prize by showing us your photography talent.

Thanks for following and reading my posts.

Steem on,
Tim

Man... Your photoshoots are just like Christmas for my eyes.
I just cannot take my eyes off of them. You perfectly showed the holiday spirit.
Even though I've already watched through them I still scroll up and down, up and down...))

Never tried sweet roasted almonds, I'm really curious to know how they taste :d

Ha! Thanks 🙏 though I have to say I want to improve and take even better pictures. I think this year I will make progress

With which camere setup where these photos taken?

Beautiful photography @timsaid. I downloaded some of them because the quality and the places touched me here.
Yeah I have tasted sweet roasted almond because I live with my maternal Grand ma in village when I go back from city "hostel" to home. She see me of with these beautiful sweet almonds and I think I finish it in few days Ha Ha Ha Ha.. #thanks @timsaid.

Happy to hear that the photo contests are back. I think the "timsaid photography tips" will be a smashing hit of a series :)

I hope so! What you guys think about dtube videos?

That's a pretty cool idea from a tutorial standpoint, though the fact it doesn't yet support 720p videos is kind of buzz kill when it comes to quality.

Yes!!! why not :)

Yes!!!!! This is exciting :)

I especially like the "terrorism-truck/tank-defense"-giftboxes.
These ttds can be found in many places in Germany, but they are mostly cylindrical, so I found this new style refreshing.

But there are also some more exotic instance I saw before. So here is my best-of ttds:

  1. Sylt - Sylt is a beautiful island in the north of Germany. There you can find ttds at the coast to prevent the waves from tearing apart the island. Sadly they do not function as expected.

  2. Castle Königstein (King´s Stone) - The castle is not located in any strategical point and so it was never attacked, but it was home to the biggest barrel of wine in the world. To honer this achievement they used ttds in the form of barrels.

  3. Dresden - The wonderful town of Dresden is home to the world famous "The Dresden Frauenkirche" and it is the cleanest city of the world, if measured by trashcans per square meter. Where other cities have ttds, Dresden has trashcans. You could argue this is the most innovative ttd, as it also functions a second purpose, but I doubt it´s effectiveness as tank defense.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this comment as much as I did writing it.
Have a nice day.

wow. those roasted almonds. I'm hungry now :))

Yes, they were from heaven

yes i think they were from heaven

These photos are imbued with a certain atmosphere, which captivates and attracts the eye. The main thing is that there is a Christmas atmosphere, which is felt even despite the absence of snow.
Thanks for the good for my eyes.

Glad you enjoy my work! Thanks my friend

I can't hide my feelings for these Photos. I am an amateur photographer, and taking quality pictures need skills and experience.
I love this!

Thanks man! I know what you feel. Sometimes I see pictures from the “big boys” and I am impressed. I want to step up the game this year

That is good. You will step up higher.

Fantastic photos...

Thanks!

Nice info but image collection is really very beautiful, a big thumbs up and a resteem from my side for hard work and dedication.

@timsaid :) WoW...thank you for the lovely message. I'm a bit shocked I was the lucky winner, given that all I wanted to do was persuade you into creating a tutorial post. This is awesome!!!! You're great! I'll be patiently waiting. I'm a photographer by hobby, and there's always room for improvement. Steemit is an awesome community. I'm happy to to be part of this, and great to know that I can contribute in a positive way. You've made my journey here sweeter, thank you. Steem on :D

Christmas fairs are full of color, lights and traditional sweets. Christmas is my favorite holiday because I spend it with family and friends. I have never been to Germany, but I hope to go this year. What gifts did you buy from the Christmas fair?

The pictures are wonderful, I wish you a year full of happiness and health.

Of course any list of German Christmas Markets would be incomplete with out Kathie Wolfhart and Rothenburg ob Tauer. Not the tourism but the look of the town on a cold snowy December day…..that was the most enjoyable part of my trip which included Wurztburg, Frankfurt, and Kaiserslautern.

I saw some Christmas market but I didn't realize you can create a beautiful pictures like this .. I need to improve my skills on imagining how the photographs can be more beautiful..

One thing I've learned about Germany when I was staying there is that they take Christmas market no joke. Everything was crafted to perfection and my ultimate favourite snacks during christmas is "frisch gebrannte mandeln". The freshly roasted almonds and nuts are just driving me crazy that I have to stock up 3kgs before they are gone after Christmas!

Looking forward to seeing your updates tomorrow

Yes! I haven’t took the pictures for tomorrow yet so I hope they will be good lol

Lol. They'll.
All the best

I love the photo with the window! Just amazing!

Thanks! I had the feeling I need to take that shot

your intuition was right. I think windows are one of the most interesting things to make photos of...and you can guess what is behind.)))

Wow! que hermosas fotos! muy lindo lugar...

Hello Tim, in which part of Germany are you? I am interested because I came from Germany.
In Germany there are many great Christmas Markets, where you can eat yourself full.
One of my favourite Christmas Market ist in a City of Germany called "Esslingen" from which I am come from.
Esslingen is in itself a very nice place for photography(to be more specific, for historical photography).
The reason for that?
Esslingen is a very old City and you can see a lot of remains of the Middle Ages.
For example there is a Middle Age castle in front of Esslingen with a big historical wall.

But your pictures are really fantastic.
Where I have seen your pictures, I really feel like making such photos myself. Unfortunately I currently have no time for it :(

Keep steeming
Kind regards UbuLin ;)

牛!!

These photos are awesome. They make me want to go to Germany's Christmas Market. I'd love to taste sweet roasted almonds. I bet they taste like Christmas. :D

looks good! Goodluck on your future endeavors! more travels and eats! :D
Wishing you a blessed and peaceful vacation! May your days be filled with travel and endless successful hobbies. God Bless.

Thanks for the blessing. Wish you all the best

Amazing photos!
Thank you for sharing :)

Man, love the vibes of your photos! As someone who's missed out on Christmas for a few years now, this hits close to home

and btw, sugar roasted almonds are totally my favourites! had my mum ship them half way across the globe c:

Lovely! We have a market here in Chicago each year, but I wonder how it compares to the European markets. I am betting that, as popular that our is, that it is not as large as others. Anyone have comparisons?

Nice picture gallery of your chrismas celebration, indeed every tutorials made by you to help the support the photography of stem community is awesome

very good your post

If you didn't have the Christmas spirit before visiting the market, you certainly would after! I can almost smell those sweet almonds...and all the other tantalising aromas of the market. I would be able to spend days in a place like this!

I wish I could have some almonds now

In other words; deutsche Weihnachtsmarkt. :D

Greetings from Germany!

You have a keen eye to catch everything beautiful.
When I look at your shots I just feel endless gratitude for giving me the opportunity to feel holiday's mood one more time.
You even brought roasted almonds that I actually like and a lot of chocolate that I try to stop myself from eating but fail every time... ;))

Thanks to your passion for photography had actually an amazing time just from reading a simple post.

Beautiful christmas pictures you've got here @timsaid

Nice post. I was previllaged to see the first episode of the German christmas trees you posted, they were waooooo. Now, this your second episode is awesomely beautiful. I upvote you.

Hi timsaid, MARRY CRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Wonderful photography and enjoy this travel.

really very great !
thank you !

schääää

omg your photos are insane 😍😍😍

Looks like a Merry Ol Time. :D

Haha, good one!

Man oh man look at those Christmas tones. Those are some awesome pictures. I had to go back and take a second look at them. They definitely give you a sense of being back in the Christmas spirit. Hope you had great holidays. Thanks for the share.

Have you been in the Baden-Baden Christkindlesmarkt?

It's one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen.
And it's open until new year's eve!

You definitely have to visit it one day

The globetrotter with a camera is a good finding for those who are eager to see tiny details of the world to admire it, and being aware of it making it better.

Hello, Tim!

You always surprise us with wonderful photos of your trips and through them we also travel with you. Your travel journeys make me want to travel to beautiful places in the world.

Indeed, through your photos we feel your emotions, as you write.

German Christmas markets are a paradise of lights and colors, sounds and good smells ;). The charm of the winter holidays is given by the colored lights that cover small shops with sweets or souvenirs.

I love roasted almonds. Did you try the ginger bread? In my country, Romania, is a very popular dessert at Christmas fairs.

Great inspiration you had to capture such a great photos! Wonderful lights and colors!

I am an amateur photographer but I want to learn to be better. I love the winter holidays and I would like to be Christmas again ;)

I can not wait for your next post. Good luck in 2018 and especially in photography! :)

Memories are build by doing, See those as real treasures. Visit this market together with family and enjoy those moments as never before.

travels increase our outlook, i like that..

wooooow Very dramatic pictures impressed me and I like the style of really moving you great fantastic post
Thank you

Hope I can teach you some of my tricks

I envy you. I wish I can travel as much as you do.

Nic pic

Nice!

Nice article

Thank you for this beautiful pictures. It felt like I am there, it felt like home! I had so skip my Christmas market session this year since I am on the other side of the world. I hope you have enjoyed it, I miss it so, so much. Have you tried 'Glühwein'. By far my favorite drink during this time!

Thanks for sharing..!! They are so beautiful...!!

It's a really nice picture. My hobby is to live a life.I take a good look at the pictures.

Through your eye lense, memories flooded my mind of my first German Christmas,
The wet cobble stones, the perfume of brochen filling the air, and the mark in my little hand on the way to the gummy candy store with my 7 year old mouth watering with my little sister in tow.
Nuremberg and all the gingerbread villages that arayed themselves around that city.
The markets as you have shared are spectacular, and Christmas is celebrated with Saint Nicolas bringing the gifts to the childrens shoes and boots rowed in thier order to be filled with marvelous chocolates, peppermint sticks, and dolls and painted sock puppets.
Thank you for those memories,
I loved Germany and its people, and you brought it all back to me, its getting cold enough to freeze the faint tear coursing down.
Appreciation for your travels and your art work:)

@timsaid , the travel guide :P
I loved those colors and art.

Congratulations to you! Welcome to friend

nice photography, it's cool...

friend I congratulate you excellent photographs, the part of Christmas is reflected as it comes out in the fantasy movies, and the black photographs are excellent too, I wish I had more power to vote you deserve it.

Nice photos men, keep it up :)

Good atmosphere but a bit underexposured photos for my liking. Thanks for posting!

Sometimes it’s hard to shoot on M at night, but thanks!

i love your work. what equipment do you use and do you use any post-processing tools (photoshop, etc...)?

A beautifully captured Christmas Market. I truly love how each city/country around the world offers such a different atmosphere and flavour to their Christmas Market.

Image of Christmas Market
**A little thank you from when I went to the Toronto Christmas Market this past holiday.

Nice pics !!

Dear timsaid
I have nothing els to say to you but, you are the best.

wow nice shots..very beautiful <3 :)

漂亮

any weisswurst?

No lol

These photographs are instilled with a specific environment, which spellbinds and pulls in the eye. The primary concern is that there is a Christmas air, which is felt even notwithstanding the nonappearance of snow.

good!!!

Nice work man! i liked this low key mood
you have on these pictures!
im also watting for the contest!

Shots are amazing. Miss my winter moments in Japan. I have some photos as well but not as good as these.

best post

Nice photos. But it does not bring any x-mas feeling back to me. You are a bit late with that story. ;-)
I live in Germany and love x-mas. But one time a year is enough. We just put everything (decoration, tree etc) back in the cellar. 😊

I agree with you, once a year is enough. Luckily this was the last part of my Christmas shots. In two weeks there will be some drone shots of mountains and testing my new GoPro 6

the beauty to my eyes wow excellent shots you captured

a very good post if i have steem power a lot i will give 5 SBD for you.
I will look forward to German christmas markets part 3

Man Nice pictures. Thats some awesome night shots.

Quite awesome words may fall short to describe, image collection is really very beautiful, a big thumbs up and a resteem from my side for hard work and dedication.

wonderful shots, amazing editing. i always feel kinda sad for people with no customers at stands like these. must be bloody cold standing there all night waiting for customers to buy.

great photos! you shoot on canon? what kind of lenses do you use? which is you favorite one?

your pictures are amazing, keep up your good work :)

Both of your parts are awesome and to be honest i love travelings and learned many new things as experience!

nice shots... picture perfect...

This kind of quality photography and text is exactly what is needed on SteemitWorldMap Consider adding it to the map as it's a real shame we don't have more quality content there. I actually made a contest to try and get people to contribute more Steemit World Map Challenge #1 No losers! hopefully it catches on :)

Yet another fun TimTravels! Awesome!

Very cool. I really enjoyed Germany the one chance I got to go. Your pictures are awesome! Mine have never been that refined, but I still love to document my travels for story sharing :)100_1813.JPG100_1858.JPG100_1910.JPG100_1919.JPG

so nice, hopefully, I could travel there soon. Thanks for sharing this.

This is surely an interesting experience and your article made me wants to visit all these places. great job, great post and interesting pictures. I wonder if I need to learn some German before I can travel to this place in case I lost my way since the market looks big ? ^_^

And again... wunderschöne Bilder ;)

Its just neautiful😍😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥

Wow! You had a great time with your Xmas season and it does shows well on your photos too!

Thanks for this amazing post. I was very lucky because I was in Hannower for my job 3 weeks ago and I saw the Christmas Markets in the city. It was excellent!

I think your weakest photo in the series is the last one. It's not like it's a bad photo at all, but it looks like your style of photography is more inclined towards intimate closeups that draw in the viewer. The more personal photos are rad.

Woow still on a fabulous trip @timsaid
Looks like you really enjoyed your time to create great photographic content.
I like that 👍

And I won’t stop ✋

Nice to hear it @timsaid
Keep working, let's create the best photography content 👌👍
