When you live in a city, what do you hear, what do you see, what do you smell, what do you want to touch? Every time you go somewhere away from the city, into the woods, quiet beach, up in the mountains, or a garden? Now, what can you touch in those places? Such a great feeling to feel and use all your five scenes, all in just one place.

If you live in the city and you like nature, I have a pretty good feeling you know what I'm talking about. If you live in a quiet neighborhood away from the city, then you my friend, are very lucky.

When you go out to your favorite spots, why are they your favorite spots? Maybe they make you feel good, or they help you free your mind and put you at ease. Whatever the reason, this place is special to you.

Queen Emma loved coming to this place during summertime. This was her getaway from the Royal Palace. She was born in to royalty, she must have seen, and heard ,many things in the palace that she needed to get away from it all from time to time.

The word Nature is derived from the Latin word natura or essential qualities, innate disposition* and in ancient times nature meant birth. What do you think when you hear the word nature and why is it that, that is the first thing that came to mind? Could it be because this is the place that helps you find peace with yourself?
image

Imagine Queen Emma’s getaway palace back then, before all the homes and roads were built. When all there was to see and hear was the Earth, untouched by human kind. When you feel the Earth, you can feel all it's been through and continues to do so everyday.

A touch of natures history captivates you to envision these moments. Such great moments, that you wish you were alive then just to experience it. How would your five senses react to it? Would you go bazaar and completely nuts, or will you be excited and grateful for such a great opportunity?

There's a saying that states; ”If you cut a tree down, and look at the stomp afterwards, you will see the age of the tree by counting the rings the stomp has.” I believe roots of the trees can also help tell the age of the tree. Maybe not the exact age (like cutting down a tree would) but the length of the roots can help you calculate an average of how old that tree might be.
image

Sometimes, just looking at a tree you can justify that it's an old tree. We are taught to know young from old, and old to young since we were kiddos and continues for the rest of our lives. We know we are getting old by our physical appearances, and that can go for nature as well.
image

As we get older, we learn to appreciate things, and people more than we did when we were younger. It's never too late to be appreciative and grateful. Next time you go out away from the city, use your five senses and think about the senses your are using and how they make you feel. Life is a lesson, without these lessons, what is life?
