Engineers love buildings on a hill. This is one.
Ashland has an internationally renowned year round Shakespeare program. If you want to audition, go here. Door is on the left side.
I was 10 minutes late on this shot. A bit earlier I would have had the shadow full circle. I really believe its the little things like that which separate the pros from the amateurs. The pro would go back and do it again until they got it right. Apparently we tried submitting mediocrity and then wondered why we didn't get paid.
Here are two shots on a tilt shift. By turning a threaded post on the outside of the lens, the plane of the front glass can shift either horizontally or vertically (then tilt the opposite way). Phone apps can provide a simulation of the tilt part but I don't think they'll ever get the shift until there is a measurable distance between the front glass and the sensor and the ability to move one relative to the other.
The neighbor's place was pretty tight and we couldn't get the camera placed where we wanted.
Maybe we should have put in a ton of effort and not tried to discount the package, I don't know. Its hard to read new clients. I'm all for the idea of a sweet deal on the intro. In hindsight, maybe the deal wasn't as sweet as I thought. And given the town is full of struggling artists, they probably knew people willing to work for way less, and maybe even people who bother to navigate bureaucracy sufficiently to actually get the upstairs lights turned on.
