I love Oregon for its wild approach to wilderness. Its like the place is still mostly bears and wolves, except for a few towns where logging is a very big deal.
But then there is also a beach. Maybe somehow the blustery ocean of the Pacific North West carves a hard edge for Oregon that fits the wet cold winters. Although Oregon is on the same coast as Malibu, in so many ways, they couldn't be farther apart.
Except for the occasional oasis. Cannon Beach has been on many computer screens in government buildings for years, maybe because it is a real break from the action. People ride kayaks along the coast, and they take breaks in places like these.
For the avatar I think I need to post a photo of myself and then link to that post. The rest of these photos are kinda just tagging along with this attempt at a profile pic.
My wife says the bridge is in Astoria, maybe 20 miles from the rock pictured above.
Anyone know the name of the rock, or the bridge for that matter?
Cheers.
Haystack Rock, Megler bridge.
