I'm old enough to remember when most dairy trucks looked like this. And the milkman left your milk in a metal box on your porch (and took away empty bottles to be cleaned and reused). :-)

It's inconceivable that this would happen today. The idea of reusing bottles like that has become taboo. It's another side affect of never-ending technological advancement.

My parents and our milk man were pretty good friends back in the day so I had the opportunity to go on part of his route and ride in one of those beasts back when I was 4 or 5.
