This story is about my first real film, “A Day in the Life of a Fire Lookout."
I teared up the first time I saw it assembled and it still hits me hard every time I see it.
“You cannot base a whole movie on just the imagery alone. It has to be the story and the characters.”
Hello Gary,
I just saw your video, “A Day in The Life of a Fire Lookout.” Brought tears.
I’m a 68 year old retired cop. I hike upon the Mountain almost every day. Your film moved me hugely.
I feel like I’ve finally found peace in my life roaming the paths and trails on Tam. I’ve forwarded your film to the people in my life. It will help them understand.
Thanks for putting it together. When I’m unable to be on the Mountain, I will take refuge in your film.
I’ll think of you every time I look at the tower.
But that's for another blog post.
Very cool work. Did you do any color work on these or is this just what your camera captured? They look great. I just posted a piece that talks partially about color grading and how it effects the mood and setting. https://steemit.com/art/@iamwne/blade-runner-inspired-digital-set-the-dark-market-beauty-pass. I use it for making a digital set but the same principals apply to practical shooting.

Glad you enjoyed the piece, and yes... I'm a DaVinci Resolve colorist and that's a big part of my creative process. (You can see some of that in my post about the Puddles the Clown video from a couple days ago.) There will be a lot more Resolve content showing up in the coming posts.
And hey... I see you're an accomplished 3D artist. You will appreciate my history with 3D content creation tools, which you can check out on my introductory post here on Steemit. Nice work on that Dark Market post... it's great to see those kinds of posts from the Steemian community!

I am not sure if I feel accomplished when I look at some of the stuff on Artstation. lol. Do you run just DaVinci software or do you have their hardware too. Their new live green screen device looks pretty cool. I do a lot of digital set work and am doing a bit more with live shots. It is so much easier to do that in post.
Thanks for the positive feedback. It always feels good to hear that someone appreciates what you do. I followed you and will check out your intro post. Thanks again.
