Previous psychological studies have indicated that the large number of "silphy" images is a type of mental disorder, but this time a new study indicates that a person who takes multiple Silva pictures of himself may be a narcissistic type.

The study, led by Jesse Fox, an assistant professor at Ohio State University, has revealed the association of this type of imaging behavior, known as narcissistic psychology, to self-interest.

The study included 800 men between the ages of 18 and 40, during which they filled out an online survey of their activities in photographs published on social networking pages, as well as other personality assessment tests, and revealed the association of many silphic images with narcissistic characters.

People who are associated with filming silphi, spending a lot of time editing photos and posting them on social media sites focus more on themselves, think they are smarter, more attractive and better than others, and there are problems with feeling safe, Empathy and respect for others, in addition to some anti-social features, and a tendency to self-amplification.

According to Fox, the prevalence of self-images on social networking sites helps to confirm "self-amplification" in these people.

But despite this, Fox stresses that it is not necessary for people who take photos of Silvie and publish it frequently on the Internet to suffer from psychological problems and disorders, but after its spread today it has become a kind of common and natural behavior
