Abandoned Tuesday. The old Church in suburb of Bryansk

A few years ago, in May, we traveled to the outskirts of Bryansk and found this old abandoned Church. From the locals we learned that before the revolution this Church was built by local merchant. And it was, until the mid XX century. Perhaps it will reestablish. Beautiful place there!








Несколько лет назад, в мае, мы путешествовали по пригородам Брянска и отыскали вот такую старинную заброшенную церковь. От местных жителей мы узнали, что ещё до Октябрьской революции эту церковь построил местный купец. И действовала она вплоть до середины XX века. Возможно, её когда-нибудь восстановят. Красивое там место!

        Lovely pics and quite an unusually shaped church... Any idea why it was abandoned? Was there any village nearby, or is it alone in the middle of the fields and forest?

          Yes, @herverisson, nearby placed habited village. The church was abandoned because there was sad, long and total period of atheism in the history of Russia. Fortunately these dark times ceased )

            I always loved abandoned places. they have a unique atmosphere...nice pictures.
