Here is a macro I took locally. Although the subject is disgusting, in my opinion, the lighting, colors, and lines all come together into something that looks really beautiful as a whole. The setting would have been almost perfect for a beautiful flower, but instead a mushroom occupies the space. I think in nature everything has a place and purpose. Even the ugly lifeforms deserve a nice capture too.

Aperture: f/3.5
ISO: 4000
If you are wondering, I used the 4000 ISO to ensure a sharp shot with a high shutter speed. With macro photography, high shutter speed is essential as handheld shots are constantly changing focus and instability/blurring is exaggerated. I high ISO increases the sensor's sensitivity to light, meaning a shorter amount of time is needed to properly expose the image.
