The theory of photography is something very rich and goes beyond the simple act of "pushing the button" of the camera. I learned that photography is something far beyond the knowledge of image reproduction.

Psychology, philosophy, sociology, law, theology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, history and geography are some knowledge that also make up a picture.

Following this line of reasoning, I will leave here documented some of my drafts made during my photography course. Drafts from my studies, both during my photography course, and in books, documents, articles on photojournalism, which is my other area of action in photography besides street photography.

Characteristics expected from a Photojournalist = Do not miss the moments, therefore, they will never be repeated. Discretion, silence, agility. Do not shoot with the camera flash!

Types of Photojournalism

Lato Sensu = Informative, interpretive, documentary photos. Photo Documentarism (Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Sebastião Salgado)

Strictu Sensu = Opposes views and only shows the newspaper's interest side and its editorial positions. (News Agencies)

Information

Information is all that is new, unexpected.

Information Theory = Science that studies the content of the photographic message in communication and its repercussion in printed or electronic media.

Redundancy in Photojournalism

One should not make redundant images of photojournalism. Redundant Images = Where the photographed element is the same in all situations. Ex: Car accidents, fires.

Redundancy of Sense = When the elements are diverse, but the meaning is the same. Ex: Queues on banks, employment centers, protests that follow in an avenue, military parades.

Object and Sense Redundancy = Object and meaning are the same in all pictures. Ex: Interviews.

It was great to have the opportunity to permanently document here in Blockchain my knowledge acquired in photography and that this knowledge can be of benefit to all those interested in the subject and wish to learn about photography besides the "push the button" of the camera.
