Cork textures

This is where cork comes from.
It is basically a Cork Oark tree bark that is taken from the tree and further processed to become something we know.

Beautful, dry textures, leyes, pores and colours. That is why it very light. Lots of air pockets on there. It is not a solid wood-like bark.
This was a piece of cut down, or broken by the winds tree that was slowly decomposing. The bark was chipping off exposing the inside of the tree and more different layers. Sad, but beautiful.

This is how the tree looks like when it is still standing:

Very beautiful photos!
I knew about the cork tree, but I never saw them!
I was interested to see their photos!
It is beautiful!

They are really nice and can grow to very big and old trees. Quite amazing :)

Super!

I was so surprised when I first visited Portugal to see cork oaks! I guess I had never given any thought to where cork came from. Seeing the groves of cork oaks and learning about the process and what the numbers on the trees meant. It was all pretty astonishing to me! Great photos!

It was something completely new and surprising for me too when I first came here. I didn't think what is cork actually.. and that it comes from a tree!
Pretty amazing to see them now with bare skin. They are so red then.

I have never seen them like that. I was always there during the winter months.
