🚶🏻‍♂️Camino de Santiago por León: San Miguel del Camino – San Martín del Camino🚶🏻‍♂️

¡Hola amigos!
Hoy continuo con el relato de la etapa que publique en el post de ayer. Había dejado el relato ayer en San Miguel del Camino. Relaté como un señor llamado Agapito había dejado en una mesa avituallamiento para el peregrino necesitado.
Siguiendo con la ruta seguí caminando por el páramo leones que tiene una orografía extremadamente plana. Aquí se hacen cultivos de secano pues se planta trigo y cebada.

Continuing with the route I continued walking through the lions páramo that has an extremely flat orography. Rainfed crops are grown here, since wheat and barley are planted.

Desde hace relativamente poco tiempo, se han creado zonas de regadío que traen el agua desde los pantanos de Riaño y Porma. En esta tierra húmeda se están cultivando de forma intensiva maíz y la remolacha azucarera. En los secarrales del páramo leones los cursos de agua introducen un fuerte contraste en el paisaje al aportar humedad en un entorno extremadamente árido.

Since relatively recently, irrigated areas have been created that bring water from the Riaño and Porma wetlands. In this humid land intensive corn and sugar beet are being cultivated. In the drylands of the páramo lions the watercourses introduce a strong contrast in the landscape by providing moisture in an extremely arid environment.

Por mi lado derecho se estaba oscureciendo preocupantemente el cielo, barruntando tormenta.

El Páramo leones es una comarca que se encuentra en la mitad sur de la provincia de León. Se haya justo al sur de la cordillera Cantábrica y está entre las vegas y confluencias de los ríos Esla y el Órbigo.

El Páramo leones is a region that is located in the southern half of the province of León. It is just south of the Cantabrian mountain range and is between the fertile valleys and confluences of the Esla and Órbigo rivers.

El Páramo leonés destaca por ser una de las zonas más llana de la península ibérica. Se generó por depósitos fluviales hace millones de años y se ha conservado casi sin erosión hasta nuestros días. En esta zona, había hace millones de años grandes ríos que arrastraron una enorme cantidad de materiales que, con el tiempo, dieron lugar a esta zona de gran sedimentación en la cuenca del río Duero.

The Páramo leonés stands out as one of the flattest areas of the Iberian Peninsula. It was generated by fluvial deposits millions of years ago and has been preserved almost without erosion until nowadays. La arquitectura popular paramesa se compone de unos materiales básicos que se encuentran en la zona: barro, adobe, madera, paja y cantos rodados.

En la actualidad los ríos han ido habiendo sus cauces, pero han dejado intactas largas llanuras y cerros pequeños. Como no falta el agua, Realizan agricultura intensiva.
En los últimos años, se ha producido un cultivo intensivo de maíz, llegando incluso a variar el clima de esta zona haciéndose más húmedo en verano.

La comarca del Páramo Leonés es geológicamente una llanura formada por sedimentos entre dos ríos. Es el mayor de León, y uno de los mayores de la península ibérica. Tiene 50 km de largo y 30 km de ancho. Es prácticamente plano, sin releve ni pendiente.

Me empecé a preocupar seriamente pues se veían las mantas de agua caer desde el cielo de forma amenazante. Solo me quedaban unos pocos kilómetros y si empezaba a llover podría acabar bastante mal. Estaba muy preocupado y caminaba todo lo rápido que me daban las piernas fatigadas.

I began to worry seriously because the blankets of water could be seen falling from the sky in a threatening way. I only had a few kilometers left and if it started to rain it could end badly. I was very worried and walked as fast as my tired legs gave me.

El albergue ya sólo estaba a 300 metros.

The hostel was only 300 meters away.

Me ofrecieron comer junto a los peregrinos que compartían unas apetitosas carnes con papas. Preferí volverme en un taxi en León, pero me dieron enviada su compañerismo y camaradería. Muchos de ellos añosos, les escuché habla de sus diversos tratamientos tos médicos y patología. Aun así, se embarcaron casi en solitario en esta aventura. No hay duda de que ¡el Camino engancha!

They offered me to eat with the pilgrims who shared some tasty meats with potatoes. I preferred to get back in a taxi in León, but they sent me their fellowship and camaraderie. Many of them old, I heard them talk about their various medical treatment and pathology. Even so, they embarked almost alone in this adventure. There is no doubt that the Camino engages!

Mientras me tomaba mi ansiada cervecita con unos cacahuetes observé al gato descansar en el sillón y me fijé en el cesto donde los peregrinos dejan y toman ropa según la puedan necesitar. La solidaridad es el principio fundamental del peregrinaje, y de la vida.

While I was taking my longed for beer with some peanuts I watched the cat rest in the armchair and I noticed the basket where the pilgrims leave and take clothes as needed. Solidarity is the fundamental principle of pilgrimage, and of life.

Sellé mi credencial y di por finalizada esta aventura de tres días caminado por León. Hoy, cuando han pasado casi cuatro años, recuerdo aquellos días con añoranza y podría decir que me asaltan los recuerdos de estos kilómetros con mucha frecuencia. He disfrutado mucho poniéndolos en limpio en este diario. En los próximos días me gustaría hacer un post sobre la Catedral de León y la Basílica de San Isidoro (la Capilla Sixtina del románico).

I sealed my credential and ended this three-day adventure walked by León. Today, when almost four years have passed, I remember those days with longing and I could say that the memories of these kilometers assail me very often. I really enjoyed putting them in this diary. In the next few days I would like to make a * post * about the Cathedral of León and the Basilica of San Isidoro (the Sistine Chapel of Romanesque).
