Photo Hunt Contest #14 - Architecture || Abandonment and Ignorance

in photoquesthunt •  6 years ago

The theme of the Photo Hunt Contest hosted by @photoquest is architecture.
My two entries are about the same old building with an amazing architecture but left to nature's mercy. It is not abandoned but nothing has been done to preserve its beauty.
Located in the middle of my hometown, this beautiful building hosted the city hall. Today, several local businesses occupy the 121 years old edifice.

The beautiful architectural details are being destroyed by the rain and snow. This beautiful stone lady who once looked proudly over the town's streets, has been abandoned and forgotten.

Perhaps the current authorities will try to fix the damage done by time, weather and ignorance and will restore this edifice to its former beauty.

I chose a monochrome edit for these photos as it seemed fit considering the age of this building. Plus, it looks cool. 🙂

It's sad to see old buildings neglected.

They have a project running and they are supposed to start fixing this building. Hopefully we will have a mild winter and no damage will occur until they finish.
This building it's part of town's history and it's a shame it was forgotten for so long.
