nice one! You have posted very well!

I admit that I've been buying votes for a while. I've tried several services over the past many months but typically go to smartsteem and minnowbooster.

Frankly though there is very little (if at all payback). I have put in many $$$ and it all looks good until the payout happens and I get very little return sometimes less.

It really doesn't seem worth it but I still attempt it. If I didn't I would be getting next to zero votes and returns for my effort. No one seems to care much about reading poetry. I'm been a consistent contributor of original content since 2016. But I wonder if my time has come. Why should I bother right? It's a lot of work to write.

This huge backlash against small guys like me who are just trying to make a few buck is uncalled for. Why is everyone here so self-righteous?

I'm not an artist or a great photographer and I'm not a pretty girl so as a result I'm not rewarded instantly by upvotes. Why not punish those people, who get huge votes for posting a single selfie?

I don't get people. Quality writers (like I strive to be) will just leave Steemit altogether if enough people harass us for trying to make a dollar or two. I don't understand... no offense to you though.

All the best...

Hi there. I stumbled across this comment of yours and I think you have it all backwards.

Why not just flag the other poets here? When you buy a vote, you push their work down. You push them out of the way so your self-righteous ass can be seen. Flags are free. Why pay to push these people out of the way? Just flag your competition. It has the same effect as buying a vote or two.

The true quality writers have been leaving because of you folks who come here so you can perform in front of robots instead of people. You think your work is better than your competition by default, before anyone even has a chance to look at it, so you purchase more self votes than the one you've already been given to use. Why should your competition support you now? You push everyone away so you can be center stage, and you can't figure out why you're not able to make much money?

They told you purchasing a vote would help you get visibility yet a robot can't see and those who delegated to the bot are being paid to look away. That's what you're paying for, that's what you're encouraging here.

Excuse me?

  1. I don't think I am better than anyone. You are assuming that's what I was saying.

  2. I have no idea how these bots are designed, what their back end structure does or does not do. I only know (like most non-IT literate people) that you spend some money in hopes of a bit of return. That's it!

  3. You proved my point about bullies. You are one! You are exactly the type of person that convicts people on your own preconceived notions about them. What you want to believe.

Look, the truth is I don't want to hurt anyone else and I don't understand all the IT crap. After all of this my take away is just shut up and do what the loudest voices tell me to you or else they will make your life hell. Great. Just like real life. A bunch of bullies run the world and Steemit is no different.

I guess that's what I'll do.

Cheers...

UPDATE:
If you are interested I made a pledge today after this confrontation. You can read about it here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@freeinthought/no-more-voting-bots-for-me-i-don-t-understand-them-and-everyone-is-mad-at-me

I'm not asking for your upvote just to let you know that you win... Cheers.

What a day...

You called everyone self-righteous in your comment. Everyone. I pointed out how your actions are self-righteous.

If someone wants to compete with you, when you buy a vote, you force them to do the same thing.

Go ahead and call me a bully all you want. Go ahead and attempt to make me feel guilty for thinking an even playing field is a good thing. I don't care. These votes are free.

I have a dollar, would you like to buy it? It'll cost you a dollar, but after curation you'll only get 75%. Does that sound like a good deal to you? That's all these bots do. You need the free votes to make money here. What's so wrong about encouraging people to work towards that? Nothing. I honestly would like to see new members here have the same opportunities I had when I started, but instead, they're contributing to this madness of buying votes and shooting themselves in the foot. I haven't been purchasing these votes. Everything in my wallet was earned here through hard work. That's all you have to do to earn money here. Work. You can't just post and expect to see money. That's not how it works. It never worked like that.

OK. I get it now. Buying votes sucks for everyone. It's not something I understood or thought about previously. I never expected people to just vote for me but the vote buying market sprung up and as far as I knew it was a option for small time people like me here. I never studied it or read any of the articles about it.

I get it now. Although I still don't understand the details.

I suppose I just blew up because I've had seemingly random comments before on my post about how evil I was for buying votes and how they would do everything in their power to down vote me.

Sorry. I just want to write. Cheers...

I think the best thing we can all do is not argue about this stuff and hate each other over it. If I got under your skin, I'm sorry for that. It wasn't my intention to harass you.

Thank you. I guess it only shows that good things can always from from negative experiences. I've learned something and I'm more aware now. Thanks for that. I'll stick to my pledge. Cheers...
