Tired Or Inspired

Kelvin was offered a promotion.
He turned it down.
It meant more work.
And more responsibility.
But he was tired.
Too tired.

Liza rolled over in bed.
Away from the light.
She pulled the blanket over her shoulders.
And tried to keep the day out.
From downstairs, she could hear her children.
They made breakfast.
Noisily.
Liza knew she had to get up.
But she couldn't.
She was tired.
Too tired.

Mason put down his pen.
He closed his book.
He had two more chapters to read.
He knew he should read them.
If he wanted to pass his exam.
But he didn't.
He was tired.
Too tired.

We hear people say they are tired, every day.
On the train, in the office, everywhere.
Too tired to work.
Too tired to play.
Too tired to study.
Every day.

Do we work better than Kelvin? No.
Are we a better parent than Liza? No.
Do we study better than Mason? No.

But we are never tired.
Why?
We are never tired because we are always inspired.
We are inspired to write.
And share.
To help.
And care.

How can we be tired, when we are inspired to do great things?
Are we tired?
Or.
Are we inspired?
