My Promise To All Artists Everwhere: Artopium Will Be The First To Use A Direct Payment Litecoin Cart

in pissed •  7 years ago  (edited)

I promise that Artopium.com will be the first legitimate site to properly accept Litecoin as payment in order to buy art, music and mp3 downloads, DVDs, fashion and books. This will be a direct payment system without any 3rd party system such as Bitpay or Coinbase. Why would anyone use a 3rd party, centralized system anyway? I'm really confused why all the big companies haven't figured this out, and I plan to beat them all to the punch. It's clear Litecoin is the right choice for everyday sales, not Bitcoin. So if you are an artist trying to sell your work and are interested in accepting payments in Litecoin, sign up to Artopium.com! This new feature is being implemented right away and I hope to have it up and running rather quickly. It's actually a pretty simple matter of integrating the QR code in the current Artopium shopping cart.

I seriously doubt that many are having positive experiences buying things with crypto. Who would pay $30 BTC miner's fee to buy things online? Rich people? Not regular people, that's for sure. Litecoin is the obvious choice, but most stores take BTC, not LTC. Those that take LTC convert it to BTC and so you end up paying the BTC miner's fee anyway! I will end all of this! At Artopium.com you will pay exactly the LTC price listed, no more, no less, and every transaction will go through. I promise!!!!

Good for you - the whole point of crypto is decentralized transactions. Not only do some businesses have shady practices but they are sitting ducks for hackers and regulators.

Hm, is this your site? I've sold some of my handmade things on Ebay and Etsy, but they arent working out all that well. Especially Etsy, ew! Haha! I'm always open to new places to list my creations!! I may consider taking the coin:)

Please! Sign up! Yes, Artopium is my baby. It's fully functional and very secure. Right now I use paypal for transactions. I take an 8% commission when a sale goes through but its free to sign up and post things for sale. I usually payout as soon as the sale goes through and you have confirmed that you've shipped. Pretty cool, huh? Way better than Etsy. :) My only problem is that it's relatively unheard of and has few artists but that's changing quickly. Come hang out with us cool kids!

I'll check it out! Paypal works! 8% sounds much better than the 10%+ from other sites that have listing fees. Because of that I feel the need to jack my prices way up..... Thank you for sharing your site!

Where have you had negative experiences?

See my reply above

What sites have you been using? I've been collecting cryptos from faucets and earnings for a couple of years now but only really focus on building it up and watching the markets. I use it for a few online services but other than that, its more of an investment that grows using money I earned for free.

Sorry I updated the post because it was too negative originally. My current debacle involves blocktrades just now stealing 3.16 SBD. Overstock.com tried to steal $150 in LTC but ony got away with $!5 in BTC. I tried to transfer money out of Coinbase and it was rejected multiple times. Not to mention Coinbase charged me for selling Litecoin directly to the "USD Wallet" (whatever a USD wallet is) but then I find out You can't withdraw from the USD wallet, so I had to pay more fees to move money around just to find out it won't go anywhere. It's all bullshit to me right now.

Hey, I still can´t login. Old password reseted but did not receive. And Artopium doesn´t know my new email yet.... Thanks for solving this problem. J

Hmmm. I definitely put in the new email. I checked that the connection did not fail and my logs show that when I reset the password an email was definitely sent to your gmail address. Please email me: artopium at gmail dot com. I spelled it out to avoid bots spamming me. We will get you in there! Never had this problem before though, so I'm not sure what 's going on. But email me and we will double check your email address from there. Thanks!
