Update on my Fittonia plant

About 2 months ago, I bought a Fittonia Albivenis plant and shared it’s picture in the link below

It looked really great when I first got it. It also needed very little care. I barely watered or fertilized it as I wasn’t sure how exactly to go about it. Then 2 weeks later it’s soil was really dry and I knew I needed to water it and I did. Then about a month later it started dying. I watered it and that did not help so I did the next thing. I fertilized it and after about 30 minutes it’s came back to life again.
I love this plant because it’s very quick in letting me know what exactly it needs. For someone not so good at raring plants , this is great. About 2 weeks ago I was about to throw the plant away cause it looked so hopelessly dead. I tried watering it, I even fertilized it and it still wasn’t “happy”. So I brought it down stairs and let the tap run through the plants soil for like at least a minute-or-so, then I left it alone and soon after it came back alive.
This plant is definitely interesting and I’m learning to take better care of it with time. I did read that it needs to be fertilized once a month and watered once a week, but I find that I have to rewet it more often than weekly, at least twice a week.
Here is what the plant currently looks like

As you can see, there’s much less foliage, also the plant on the far left only has one leaf left.
Does anyone know why the new leafs that grow keep drying up?

The plant shows a good development and moreso, I like the colour. It is a good sight to behold.

Thanks turpsy, I guess I made a good choice getting it.

I wil have to make a lil research on fittonia cos I have no knowledge of it.

Random thought, guess it doesn't get to see much sunlight. Plants uses sunlight through the process of photosynthesis to maintain it growth

Look for this information for you.

The Fittonia belongs to the family Acanthaceae and is a funny plant very cultivated by the beauty of its leaves, very decorative, native to Central and South America.

CULTURE TECHNIQUE

The Fittonia is an easy plant to cultivate and does not request particular treatment.

It is a plant that prefers shaded positions with summer temperatures between 24-27 ° C and winter temperatures that do not have to fall below 18 ° C.

The bearing is hanging and creeping and if we bother the "overflow" of the stems of the pot, they can be extirpated without problems.

It does not want drafts that should always be avoided at any time of the year.

The leaves are only removed when they are dried to prevent them from becoming a vehicle for parasitic diseases.
The Fittonia propagate by cutting or by division of the bush.

Thanks for sharing that.

My mother has a plant very similar to that a few days ago I went to visit my mom and I take this picture to the plant. It is very satisfying to take care of a living being and watch it grow. I congratulate you for your performance with your little plant.
