PLTD Apung" PLN's electric generator ship in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, which is currently used as a tourist spot, known as the "Floating Ship". The vessel has an area of about 1,900 Kilo Square Meters, with a length of up to 63 Meter.
The 2,600-ton vessel was previously in the sea at Ulee Lheuh crossing, where it stands today (Punge Blang Cut, Jaya Baru, Banda Aceh City). On Sunday, December 26, 2004 at around 8:45 pm the ship was dragged 2.4 km to the mainland due to earthquake and tsunami wave as high as 9 meters.
The vessel was given to the Aceh government when the conflict between the government and GAM (Gerakan Aceh Merdeka) took place. In 2012-2013, the ship was renovated. Visitors can board the ship and now the surrounding area is equipped with 2 towers, a monument, a walkway, and a water fountain.
