Now PMA Long Course selection procedure criteria have been hanged. Pakistan Army set points/scores/marks for each process of selection and these marks will be counted in the final merit list of each candidate. Here is the distribution of marks for each process of selection.

PMA Long Course (Definition)

Pakistan Army wants to select suitable candidates for the regular commission officer posts and set a procedure for the selection of these posts. The PMA Long Course selection is for regular commission officers of combat & combat support arms and services.

The PMA Long Course has a duration of 2 years which is further divided into 4 terms of 6 months each. Two-year training at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA).

PMA Long Course selection procedure is announced twice a year usually in March-April & October-November. The number of finally selected PMA candidates is 500 for each course.

The registration for PMA Long Course selection process is simple and a student can register through the internet or at the nearest Army Selection & Recruitment Centres. During the Registration schedule, a candidate can register for PMA Long Course in any of the following ways.

Eligibility Conditions

  • Education

    | Graduates (2-year graduation ) Serving Pakistan Army / Pakistan Air Force Personal | 17-23 Years | a candidate who scores a minimum of 60% marks in graduation with a minimum of 50% marks in FA/FSc or equivalent. | 3 months for both upper and lower age limits |
    | Graduates with 4-year graduation program [ BS/BA(HON)/BBA/BPA ] | 17-24 Years | candidate with a minimum of 60% marks in a 4-year graduation program [ BS/BA(HON)/BBA/BPA ] with a minimum of 50% marks in FA/FSc or equivalent. | No age relaxation |
    | Serving Army Soldiers | 17-25 Years | 50% marks in FSc/FA or equivalent | No age relaxation |

  • Gender
    Male citizen of Pakistan

  • Marital Status
    Unmarried ( married serving person of Pakistan Armed Forces over 20 years of age )

  • Minimum Height
    5′ – 4” (162.5 cm)

  • Weight
    Asper body mass index (BMI)

Preliminary Selection

the following will be included in the initial test with the weightages assigned in the module.

  1. Written/Intelligence Test
  2. Medical Examination
  3. Physical Test
  4. Interview by S&RO

1. Written Intelligence Test

This test will be based on MCQs from the following:

  • Verbal
  • Non-Verbal
  • English
  • Math
  • Pak Study
  • Islamiyat
  • General Knowledge

Written/Intelligence Test marks
Initial Test is divided into the following portions:

  • Intelligence Test: Verbal + Non-verbal
  • Academic Test: Englis, Math, Pak Study, Islamiyat, General Knowledge

Marks distribution is as follows:

  • Verbal Test: 86-90 MCQs
  • Non-verbal Test: 86-90 MCQs
  • Academic Test: 50 MCQs
