Re-evolution

Take a look , see my past...watch my life turn.
See the old me, light a match...now watch that man burn.
I saw the flaws, saw the weakness.
Saw the kinks in his armor, after all he was my nice side,
the one that would never hide.

They say I’ve change for the worst….I tell’em I’ve learned to fly.
They ask were is the “old me”….I tell’em he had to die.
And die hard he did…in my very arms he died,
still have nightmares of that day when I choose to slay myself ..I swear I cried.

No matter how scary, it was necessary.
That side of me made me weak …and now it was dead and buried.
No longer striving for a woman, love, and passion,
became consumed with grinding for profit
Grew fond of the latest fashion.

Told myself along time ago, young man this is your time to blow-”up”,
Funny in a lot of ways I told myself to grow “up”…
No matter how much pain I conjured, my happiness never would show up.

So if I know you me ..call me cold….
and Bestow a warm embrace,
I’m truly harder than before, you can see it on my face.
