Poem - Winter rose

in poem •  7 years ago

From the heart of a flower

Of the garden pink, emerges a stalk
Our hearts are seeded with love
Raw passion and undefined tenderness

Upon this earth, the stars come out
Your name shines emblazoned on the sky
Lit everyday by the sparkle of your smile
And by a sun that knows no setting

But alas! In memory and in dreams
Your heart remains desolate and raw
Its love locked up nakedly in the dark
Crying out for the home it desires

Fine curved of body and marble eyed
You are the tabernacle of unseen marvels
A treasure-hold of trembling passion
Beautiful, soft, tender and fragile of heart
How will you stand the storms of life?

To whom will you entrust your heart?
Unless you find and feel in him
That one quality no one else defines
In the dark, what do you whisper?
