The Joy of A Book

in poem •  6 years ago

Whose book is that? I think I know.
Its owner looks quite happy.
Full of joy like a vivid rainbow,
I watch her laugh. I shout hello.

She gives his book a shake,
And laughs until her belly aches.
The only other sound is the wind,
Surrounding us like an old friend.

The book is soothing, astonishing and deep,
But she has promises to keep,
The cover is closed...
And now it's time to take care of the sheep.
