Just a poem for a soulmate

Maybe one day the stars will align and this poem will find its way to you.

Names seem insignificant when souls encounter

I’m choosing to write this at 3 a.m.

When the veil is at its thinnest

And the thoughts come through unfiltered

I need to send these words off and offer them a fighting chance

In spite of the signs suggesting otherwise

And reality slowly crippling back in at sunrise

Divine guidance will show us the way — trust the process love

I may have doubted you and I

But I will never question destiny

I have to go and let the road unfold

Yet a part of my soul gets ripped off with every step I take

We have been blessed with lives full of wonder

Visions of the future and the past

And I wouldn’t trade this for the world

For if nothing else, we’ll always be storytellers

Different essence, same mission and intertwined lives

Our pact was to lead each other to the light when things got tough

So I had to come get you — something to do with the remnants of a past life

As I erase the lines that cut the deepest from my manuscript

I’m once again grateful for inspiration

Finding its way back to my life when I need it the most

We already know all that we ought to

And the rest is history

Worry not, we’ll meet again
