POEM: BLIND

in poem •  8 years ago

Blind sided by beauty
My pitch black plans
Were touched by the sun
Still warm enough to glean

Is it strange how we
Both with shadow hands
Aren’t burned once
By words unseen?

I want the real me
Like gold nugget pans
To be found wild honey
Sweet and free

We walked as beams
Blinded by light bands
Separate paths and trees
And we are at peace

Our senses are lanes
Our ears are flames
Our touch is sugar cane
Our lives remain
