Lost Time

in poem •  6 years ago

I’ve spent most of my time pleading with the clock,
And yet it has refused to cut me any slack,
I’ve tried bargaining with the minute hand,
Begging for only a brief moment back.
Years passed me by as I sat behind concrete walls,
Watching the entire world change from far away,
Remembered by none but forgotten by all,
If only I could have back just a single lost day.
