Here I am once on my own
How I have fallen from my throne
Life is meaningless without you in our home
I've lost all meaning laying here alone.
I've tried to replace the emptiness within
But with no success and my heart is wearing thin
In the darkness searching for light in you
Your are far away to give the spark that starts the fire anew
I am reaching out, crying, drawing in tears
You were my only hope, protection against my fears
A pillar of strength and hope in my life
You've prevented me to put into my chest this knife
Hopelessly hopeless without hope
I've been surviving but now struggling to cope
I need you like a flower needs the sun
I need you because you are my only one.

In addition to the message, I usually like it when there's a recognizable rhyming pattern, as it shows that the poet really put some thought into it.
