"Poetry of the Golos". "Poetic Studies": Goethe and Modernity (Part I)

Sometimes I simply marvel at the kind of genius that can be perceptive. It seems that they lived almost in the "Stone Age", and the public development was, in our view, an embryonic version, but thought the classics so that at least now they are duplicated in the media - and you will not be mistaken with the forecasts and statements.

It occurred to me when I once again read Faust's Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and saw in the media the revelation of the deputy about the dissertation he had bought.

... what we call Learning, at times one conceit.

And I began to delve more closely into Goethe's phrases. I do not speak German, so I believed the wonderful translation of Boris Pasternak. In his presentation, each line of the poem looks like an aphorism.

Let me remind you, Goethe wrote Faust throughout his creative life - almost 60 years, from 1770 to 1831. It's almost 200 years ago!

In "Faust" Goethe collected everything - lyrics, civic pathos, philosophy, satire, irony and descriptions of nature.

There are many statements about human stupidity and greed, about the relationship of a man and a woman, about the economy of the state. There are simply beautiful statements.
