Poetry Slam Challenge #2: Warmth of Winter's Day

in poetry •  8 years ago

Warmth on winter's day
Is like words I cannot say
And even when we're far apart
I still remember them in my heart

Where snowflakes fall
With memories I don't recall
Was it you who swept me off my feet?
The one who made me falloff my seat

The warmth of winter's day
Came and went to my dismay
Were you the one I said I love you?
I wish I remember, hope I do

I remember the laughs and the smile
I've seen and replayed it for a while
I remember the moment and the face
But the memory and feel, not a trace

I remember, you were the one
You made gloom fell like the sun
I remember the name and the face
But not the passion and its grace

I wish I remember, really, hope I do
Cause this time, I think I miss you
But something in me lack
It was the heart that I never took back

The warmth of winter’s day
I wish I had more to say
I’ll keep myself locked up in a fray
Hoping, I’d be better for you one day
