Kiawah Island- Ocean Course

Boulevards of grass barbered in flattops
bordered with beach sand
and rough.

Nothing obstructs
the view of blue sky.

I am here to prove who I am
but being a novice
the bend of the wind
is a difficult gauge.

I drift a white feather.

My father says don’t over think
selecting a club
is not so important
as buying a car

be wrong if you want
the winning doesn’t matter
it’s all about vision
and the art of the game.

A breeze from the ocean
flutters his khakis
then he recalls
his old fifty five Buick
and says he regrets
he traded it in.

Nice visual effect on the pic

Thanks, just Photoshop.

I have never really gotten into golf, but I have been constantly pushed by my father. Never completed a whole game in my life. But, I can see how your mind would wander elsewhere in the middle of a match. This was nicely made, very introspective. I liked how you focus on the internal struggle.

When I grew up it was considered weakness for a man to show emotions so the relationships between Fathers and Sons where often less than what they could be. I wanted this poem to express a more unique moment, triggered by the environment of the game, when both Father and Son were able to communicate.

Ohhh! Knowing that backstory only made this piece all the more better the second time I read it! That's awesome, man!

Yeah, touchdown!

Excellent work my friend.

Thanks so much I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I thought the pic was of chocolates then I click on it and its golf clubs!
Oh well, your dad sounds sweet.

Yah, my dad was a good guy, but this poem was pure fiction.
