He whispered soft sweet hellos
that in the trees below the birds
awoke to join him in his song.
It was still too dim to fully
witness the sight, but I know
a scene similar to this one
is what birthed Mona Lisa’s
smile.
Sun took its flight between cotton
kissed clouds. Enough light poured in
for me to see a handsome young fellow
with eyes so deep I felt lost at sea.
The same way the stars shined in tune
with the moon was the same balanced
way our gaze met.
From that moment he sunk into
the depths of me. Now hand in hand
clasping onto each other so tight
I understand the reason for the world,
so people get the chance to find love
as sweet as ours. We settle down,
make room for bliss, and give
each other kisses. I’ve realized
his love is something I would
hate to miss.
