Absurd life

Sitting at the table
sharing some bread crumbs
my wife and I
we are in deep silence
contemplating two empty plates
of our children who had to emigrate.

Years ago, with our jobs,
being university professionals.
We had a table full of food.
Vehicles to travel.
And strong family ties.

Our consolation is that at least
They are eating well.
They are university professionals
and they work as pawns.
The long years of education,
Everything collapsed
for a despotic regime.
A future in family.

We feel alone,
so alone,
That loneliness harbors sorrows.
Embraced, tears emerge
as springs
accusing a rotten regime.

Every day we send blessings.
And may our Lord protect you.
Now God, they are in your hands.
full of family values
living an absurd life
in different countries.

CHILDREN, GOD BLESS
