SHY TRUTH (An Original Poem)

in poetry •  8 years ago  (edited)

The truth,

it is often shy,

whispered only

in quiet kitchens

with curtains drawn

over steaming

cups of coffee

that we sip upon

while worrying

the wrinkles

out of the

gingham

tablecloth

with our

weathered hands.

Enjoyable work as always Eric.

Thank you, Merry Christmas!

Great poem and thank you for sharing the info for how to "pay it forward". I wasn't sure how to do that. 🖒

Thank you, @michaelstobiersk! I'm glad you enjoyed the poem!

Great work

Thank you, @binx!

You're a good poet eric.

I appreciate that @pickle!

nice.

Thank you!

You're welcome.

Like the idea of truth spoken in the kitchen, or maybe shouted in the garage when no one is around to hear it.

Thanks @beginingtoend! The garage version would be more like - The truth is often boisterous, and shouted in loud garages over a cold beer with closed doors when we smash our thumbs with a hammer. 😂

A slice of life, inner life. Love it!

Thanks @professorx! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
