The poem is very short and curt. The theme is that of admonition. The poem is very short yet the poetry succeeds in putting his message across. It is a stern warning to praise-singers and sycophants who shout and blow their praises on their 'political hoots' whom he described as 'the hoot' whom he doesn't see as useful.
