The Path Of A Poem

A poem unfolds,
one stanza at a time
peeling away wrappings
like the components
in a machine, taken apart
for careful inspection

Slowly, at the insides
we peek, instead of intestines
An awareness is found
Holding our eyes under,
a light of scrutiny

The heart beats fast,
In a way it follows a rhythm
A rhythm I can sing a song to
A rhythm like the rain when it pours
drumming staccato beats
on the zinc

Or the whizzing sound
of the fan in a room, as the blades run,
Three brothers in circles
an arm in arm

Or the pounding in the head,
like the thump thump of mortar
and pestle, of three women heavy laden
practising the mountain dance
up down your temple

Such is the way the poem goes

and what does the insides of this poem speak of? the poems that reside in poems: the music of the soul and the universe (one in the same? one in the same).

Love love the contrast of the organic with the mechanical, and, meybe even more, so the enjambment you brilliantly put on show in this brilliant final stanza:

like the thump thump of mortar
and pestle, of three women heavy laden
practising the mountain dance

Thanks for your very thorough review. You dissected this, the way a surgeon would. I feel naked, not without clothes naked. More like you pulled the curtain and had a look at what i was about back stage.

Enjambment you call it, i am glad you like. Didn't think it would make sense at first, in a hurry to meet the deadline, i left it as it was with a thought to edit.

I think now, i will leave it this way. Again, thanks for the comment, i deeply appreciate.
