A thousand reasons to smile, I only need one to cry
I look at what I'm becoming and my tears refuse to dry
I guess my selfishness and greed has gotten to a new high
There's no washing off this guilt no matter how much I try
Mother always believes I will grow wings and fly
Gravity works for the opposite as my ego multiply
I'm everyone's best friend until I make the first mistake to lie
And then I become consumed with myself until I die
In case you're wondering, these are just lines
If you don't want a swollen jaw, don't ask for punchlines
But to be honest, these thoughts are all mine
All it took was some reprimand and I've lost my shine

Beautiful words, I felt that way many months ago, it was really hard to keep, but, I decided to change the game. Another chapter of my life, a renewed season, but now I'm fine, I just had to make change, that is all than we have to feel good with ourselves

I find this post serious but that line right there made me smile somehow. I find that funny.
It is given that one mistake will forever doom us. Sadly, the good things we do can be forgotten but not the bad we did. Even though we changed to be better or suffered the consequences of what we did, it still takes time for others to forgive us.

I actually wrote that piece as a freestyle and posted it on my whatsapp status. Because I don't have anything to post that day, I decided to post it. (plus lots of people like it)
To me, it isn't really that grand. It's just an expression of how I felt that day. I felt disappointed, you know. That day, I had a lot to be happy for but the reprimand kept on reverberating in my head. I even showed my boss the poem
But thanks for the compliment. I'm happy that even my freewrites can be considered as good. I guess when I return to writing, these freewrites would have helped my creativity and 'spontaneousness'
