Poem - Farewell

in poetry •  7 years ago

When you found me I was lost
In a maze of my own doing
Like a hound without a bound
I was lost without even knowing

You uplifted my spirit
In my time of most need
Yet I was a coward, paralysed
Whilst watching you bleed

Your care, love and affection
I could not reciprocate
Like broken china doll
I am but dead weight

I am sorry for the pain
I am sorry for the suffering
I am sorry for not being there
I will be my own undoing

I ask not for forgiveness
I ask not for redemption
I only ask for you to move on
And forget my transgression
