Your Time (An Original Poem)

in poetry •  7 years ago

To pass time
To wait for yours
This life to me
Is nothing

Only the preparation for the next
What is one hundred and twenty years compared to eternity?
One
That is all
One life

So to sin in this life
Is to ignore what the soul already knows
This life is short term
And the one after is long

If you live on short terms
You will get out the same energy you put in
You will get nothing

If you live on long terms
You will live forever in the glory of light
Do you question the word of the prophets?
Is there a mark of shadow anywhere upon your heart?

I ask and wonder because you may not know its there either
A man doesnt let a friend have food upon his cheek without him knowing
It is for your own benefit
Truly

This world is an illusion
Heaven is real
If someone tells you otherwise
Realize they are a fool

When a man does not look outward for heaven, but inward
Then he has found it

It is not a place upon the earth
But rather a place inside the minds eye
You will leave this world and enter into another
You will shed this garment and enter into another

It is not a matter of if but when
When will you die?
We hope not tomorrow or the next
But when you are taken
You are taken
And may God have mercy on your soul

Excellent poem! I like theme, with the heaven's in the mind bit.
