I walk a barren wasteland
Not a soul in sight
Lost inside a world
Where no one knows my plight
A thousand eyes surround me
They all stop and stare
But I don’t see them watching
I’m completely unaware
For in my mind I’m all alone
In a barren land
Nobody to turn to
Or reach out for my hand
I stand alone in solitude
My heart filled with despair
No one there to help me
Or show me that they care
I contemplate my future
Should I stay or should I go
Would anybody miss me
I don’t really know
My head is stuck in turmoil
I don’t know what to do
Then a hand reached for my shoulder
It came out of the blue
I lifted up my head
Stared into those eyes
Of a soul sent straight from heaven
An Angel in disguise
It’s just like God had read my mind
I began to understand
I was one of the lucky ones
As I embraced my helping hand
