"I'm feeling bleak"

I’m feeling rather bleak tonight,
I cannot really say why;
It’s just a combination of things,
Which I cannot seem to let lie.
Things that should not bother me,
That are trivial to see
Yet when I look at them,
They are not so trivial to me.

I cannot change the past;
The future for me is dim
I wish that my present were,
More calmly felt within
And still we all must carry on,
And do the best we can
And hope that tomorrow will,
Bring to all peace at hand
