images of you

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

you are all things red,
a rosy blur,
lovely as the setting sun...

I used to carry stones,

river stones,

and some bright red

that waters in their simple way

had worn smooth.

Later, it was chestnuts

and later still was change,

but now I find it's images

I carry in my brain...

worn smooth

as river stones,

and some bright red.

Hello friend, good post, we invite you to participate in the first contest @Newlevelsteem

thank you

Very nice... I too have a couple of stones bouncing around in my mind. Funny how the mind smooths those edges. They were as sharp and hard as flint when they were in my pocket. Had to be careful. Time...

Thanks for this @johnjgeddes

I have loved chestnuts ever since dad introduced me to them as a boy. In the glory, I plan to cultivate a few chestnut trees...

😄😇😄

@creatr

we used to roast them and drill a hole through them, put them on a string and try to smack our opponents' chestnut to see whose was stronger.I never won at that game

That is why exotic Italian Sportscars are Red!
