Foamy Water

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Another Free Verse poem. I've written a few of these and, of course, I think they came out pretty well. What do you think?

As I was on the couch, watching TV,

minding my own business.

I was snatched up

and placed in a container.

As I laid there,

wondering what was going on,

water began to fill the container.

I couldn’t get away.

My legs wouldn’t work.

As the water rose, it changed color.

There was white foamy stuff all around.

Every so often

the water would splash up on me.

The container continued to fill.

I kicked and yelled but received no help.

Finally, when the water was almost to my nose,

It stopped.

After, what seemed to be forever,

I was lifted out of the water

and enclosed in giant white cloth.

After being jostled around,

I was returned to the couch and TV.

My first bath has been completed.
