LOSING MY GODDAMN MIND (An Original Poem)

in poetry •  7 years ago

we all lose ourselves eventually
to life
death
madness

we slip into something
greater
or smaller than us

in and out of form
and definition

we float on by into another
life
brilliant darkness
or forever clouds

but what happens we drop our shackles too soon?

we bounce against our own walls
until they evaporate
and we find ourselves
bigger (more connected)
than we should be

lost against the soul of the world
floating by
on top of this stream
the world dancing
and running it’s own game

all these walls
all these lies
all these thoughts
made of ancient stone.

i don’t need them anymore
and neither do you.

—sometimes a little madness is good
