"Do you remember the time?"

"I may.
But also, I may not."

"Do you remember the time
the speed of light changed?"

"Oh, that time.
Of course.
Who could forget it?"

"I was frightened."

"Not without good reason.
Who is so assured in himself that he can endure the alteration of fundamental nature without anxiety?"

"But no longer am I frightened."

"If true, that makes but one of us, sir."

"In it,
now,
I find hope."

"How so?
Hope in uncertainty?
Hope in disarray?
Hope in tumult?"

"Hope in that
which turns the dials."

"Yes, well.
there it is then,
I suppose."
