Something Sweet

in poetry •  7 years ago

In a sky of slate gray, ageing trees of darkest black.
I turn my gaze heaven bound and see you smiling back.

The lone star calling me home to the embrace where I belong.
A time when we were parted, I blink and we are one.

Shimmer in the night sky, your love, shine endlessly.
Golden embers that spark my heart and give me sight to see.

Blind was I and caught inside, but you have set me free.
Usher forth a new dawn, my sweetest, sing to me.
